Yes we have often heard beginners ask questions like: Which programming language should I learn?, What platform should develop for?, Which is the easiest programming language to learn, etc. Well, in this post, I share my opinion on what I think about these questions.
Umm, if you have chosen a career path in the computer programming world, it is natural to ask these questions but believe me, it is only you who have answers to these questions. Before you suddenly became interested in programming, there must be something you saw. It could be your rich boss who rides flashy cars around, or a programmer at your place of work; the way he is valued and respected, or the kinds of programs you wish to see or use that are no where to be found. There must just be a reason why you started having this urge of becoming a programmer and within this thing you saw, lies your answer.
So making research based on that thing you saw will go a long way in helping you choose what to learn. Forgive me for saying this, as far as I know, there is no easy programming language. Syntax could vary but all programming languages are the same, please can someone tell me a language that doesn't have an "IF" statement or something that is acting in place of it I'd be very glad to learn.
I was asking these questions and I got different answers which led me into learning three programming languages, if I hard made my research based on what I saw, I would have been better with just one programming language. I know C#, C++ and Java but I don't use all, in fact I never made anything with c++ I only maintain and debug programs written with it and Java is a very good language but I don't like the tools for developing with java, with MS VS, there is little I cannot do with C#. So, don't be so confident that all your skills are going to be useful. As you specialize in C#, someone else have specialized in JAVA.
In my advice, sticking with something that makes your skill useful is always rewarding. Now here is a question of thought for you. Do you know that with one programming language, one skill and one IDE, you are an ALL ROUNDER?
Now go look for that programming language, IDE and start making programs for the next generation devices and technologies. GO GO GO!
Come back for more updates, thanks.
