THE DESIGNER OF THE NEXT GENERATION AUGMENTED REALITY HEADSET COMPUTER HAS BEEN KILLED IN A HIT AND RUN CAR ACCIDENT.
A designer for Microsoft's HoloLens augmented reality headset was the victim in a fatal car accident in Redmond, Washington.
30-year-old Mike Ey was reportedly rear-ended on the highway by a car traveling at over 100 miles per hour. Robert Malsch, the driver of the speeding car, attempted to run from the scene but was later tracked down with dogs and apprehended by Redmond Police.
Malsch currently faces vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run charges. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
Ey worked as a software engineer for Microsoft and was most recently working on the HoloLens technology revealed earlier this year. IGN extends condolences to his friends and family in the wake of this tragedy.
