10 THINGS YOU SHOULD BE DOING AS A PROGRAMMER

As a programmer, there are things you should get used to or carry out in your day to day life which makes you very productive, efficient and updated in your area of expertise. In this post, I am going to list and explain just 10 of them.

  1. Read and follow technology trends: Reading is to a programmer what training is to a soccer player. I do not know about you but  all the programmers I have ever come accross are good readers, they are always hungry for information and always at alart about the new technologies coming to the market. Windows 10 is coming and guess what, I have been preparing to develop apps that runs on it. I just have the strong believe that developing for it would buy me my first car, Hahaha!
  2. Be a writer: Some say programmers can't make good writers and just like one publisher said, I know many programmers who write good articles. Write about the problem you solve so that other people who face similar problems would easily solve it. The idea is creating a database of solutions to problems which is available for anybody around the world.
  3. Be creative and learn to visualize the problem you are trying to solve or your project idea by sketching it on a paper or something: I just do this all the time and it has become a habit. Is it a good habit? Let me be the judge of that.
  4. Be a problem solver: I woke up this morning and discovered that I woke up very late, reason being that the battery of my handheld was totally out so there was no alarm to wake me up and my PC was running all through. It should have been the one to wake me up since it was the one on duty, but it didn't because it had no alarm program. I was inspired, I needed alarm on my Window 7 System and there was no internet connection for me to download one. Wait.. I am a programmer, right? Why not make myself one, the thought came and under 3 hours, I made myself a custom alarm that  calls me by name and tells me it's time to wake up followed by one annoying audio sound that is even capable of waking a dead man (You know what I mean). That was a problem solved, the accounting software I used in managing my personal accounting activities was developed by me because I couldn't afford an expensive accounting software, another problem solved. SharpAccounting can be downloaded from here, its free and open source.
  5. Be part of an open source project and always contrubute to it: There many open source projects on the internet today, stick yourself to one of them.
  6. Become an active member of stack overflow and visit regularly to help solve programming problems.
  7. Become a freelancer to know what the market is saying.
  8. Get known for what you do: Connect with professionals on LinkedIn and let them know you for what you do.
  9. Know a little about many things that are not in your field: There is a saying  which says " If you do not understand the problem, you can't solve the problem" I believe as a programmer, you should study and read about everything that is worth developing a software solution for. You are not a businessman does not mean you shouldn't develop a business software. A million dollar software idea comes from the things you read.
  10. Build a library of codes: "Never you solve one problem twice" Says the experts. Build a code library and compile it into a DLL, add all the complex codes you ever wrote to this library and keep on doing so and ensuring the library always work by testing it regularly.

Yes friends, this is the list of things I can't do without even as an amateur programmer. Please share one out of your list in the comment section.
Thanks for reading.

Microsoft will allow you to upgrade your pirated Windows 7 or 8 to full Windows 10 for little or no amount.

Microsoft's latest Operating System has been trending for a while now, while some are still contemplating on who gets a free upgrade from the two previous Microsoft's Operating Systems just like the company promised and who wouldn't, Microsoft has announced that the upgrade to Windows 10 would be free for genuine Windows 7 or 8 users and there is a good news for pirated Windows 7 or 8 users, they too might go to the Promised Land for free or pay a little fee.Hmmm..., with this in place, you can see how determined Microsoft is to pull everyone into its Windows 10 ecosystem. You know, when Windows 10 Technical Preview was first announced along with how it's going to operate (Windows as a Service), I thought Microsoft is finally kicking Windows Pirates out of business, but it seems Microsoft is giving them one more chance to own a genuine Windows, maybe Windows 10  is going to be "un-piratable" (let's just hope MS gets it right).Hahaha!...., before I forget,

HOW TO WRITE, COMPILE AND RUN C++ CODE ON LINUX KALI

This article is for hackers who want to develop a c++ program on Kali Linux without having to install any additional software. While some would tell you that you need to install an additional software or a compiler in order to develop a simple program in c++ on Kali Linux, I am going to show you how to develop a c++ program on this distro right out of box. Your Linux Kali comes pre-installed with a c++ compiler called g++ so we are going to write a C++ hello word code and compile it with this compiler. Before we get started, first open up terminal and run to verify if this compiler is installed on you machine: g++ -v if the compiler is pre-installed, you should get the version information of the compiler, otherwise, you should get an error. Now let's jump right in. In your terminal window, type in: nano MyCpp.cpp to create a c++ file and lunch it in nano editor for editing. When nano opens, type in the following c++ code and press Ctrl+x then y and then R

LOAN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (My Project Idea)

There are many companies that specializes on giving loan to people; they make their profits by collecting interest on any money they lend out, and before a loan can be given to any customer, the customer must provide a collateral and some details such as:  contact details and a reference/guarantor. When the loan is finally given to the customer, they charge interest based on the the amount given to the customer for a given period of time which could be daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.  For example, a company could be collecting interest based on a particular amount for a given period of time like: $200,000 loan would have an interest tag of $2,000  per month until the money is returned, and $100,000 would have an interest of $1,000 per month until the money is returned.  In  addition, the customers need to know when the time for them to pay their interest comes e.g.  at the end of the month or the timing model with which the calculation is being made. Usually, these companies sends ou
