WHICH IS MORE PROFITABLE BETWEEN WEB APPS AND DESKTOP APPS

There has been a debate about which is more profitable or better between desktop applications and web applications, I write this post to share my own views on the topic. It is a very big topic considering the change in technology where everyone around the world now have access to  World Wide Web which can be accessed with any device that has a web browsing functionality and the change where most companies rely on desktop programs to perform their day to day activities. In this argument, am going to be on the fence between Web Applications and Desktop Applications and I am going to treat them one after the other.

Apart from the debate between which is better between the two types of programs, there has been some criticisms about desktop applications, some see desktops programs as an outdated technology that should be buried in the wake of web applications. But these critics are mainly web developers who knows little or none about desktop app development. They tell themselves that desktop app is an outdated technology to feel ok or up to date, but deep down in their hearts, they still know the value of desktop programs, when some web developers who are looking forward to going into desktop program development but sees it as a hard task to do, hears these critics, they feel a kind of relief and that stops them from learning what they should learn. I am a desktop and web app developer, but I do more of desktop development because that is what my clients often requests for.
I have a friend who does just web applications, he tries as much as possible to convince me that desktop apps and web apps are the same, that the only difference is that web apps run on a web server while desktops apps run on desktops computers, of course I agree with him on this, but the only time I disagreed with him was when he told me that a web application can easily be converted to a desktop application by just adding a .exe file extension to the folder  that contains the web app/site files. I asked him whether he has developed a desktop app before, he said no. How then did he know about this? The fact is that he doesn't know, he said what he said to feel good, deep down in him, he wants to be a desktop app developer as well as he is a web developer.
Desktop program is still useful and still in high demand, if desktop programs aren't important and reliable, programs like Android Studio, Photoshop, Visual Studio  and the browsers themselves would have all been converted to complete web applications. The fact is web applications have not come to replace desktop programs and desktop programs are not replacing web apps. Like professionals always say , "it all depends on the job at hand, use the right tool for the job".
Web Applications on the other hand are also very useful and some times proves to be more profitable because there are more clients seeking for web apps (websites) and are ready to pay for them than those seeking for desktop programs. Everybody wants his or her business to be available online and there is nearly no modern device without a browser, that makes web apps highly profitable. Once your app is set up, all you need to do is drive traffic to that app and woo!, the money comes in. That is why everybody wants to go into web development.
The bottom line is that both technologies are good and very useful, I emphasized more on  Desktop applications because they are partially being kicked out of business by critics. All my developments, both desktop and web apps  are based on a kind of desktop program called IDE (Integrated Development Environment). Apparently, without an IDE or any desktop program used for development, life would be hell for developers.

HOW TO WRITE, COMPILE AND RUN C++ CODE ON LINUX KALI

This article is for hackers who want to develop a c++ program on Kali Linux without having to install any additional software. While some would tell you that you need to install an additional software or a compiler in order to develop a simple program in c++ on Kali Linux, I am going to show you how to develop a c++ program on this distro right out of box. Your Linux Kali comes pre-installed with a c++ compiler called g++ so we are going to write a C++ hello word code and compile it with this compiler. Before we get started, first open up terminal and run to verify if this compiler is installed on you machine: g++ -v if the compiler is pre-installed, you should get the version information of the compiler, otherwise, you should get an error. Now let's jump right in. In your terminal window, type in: nano MyCpp.cpp to create a c++ file and lunch it in nano editor for editing. When nano opens, type in the following c++ code and press Ctrl+x then y and then R...

LOAN MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (My Project Idea)

There are many companies that specializes on giving loan to people; they make their profits by collecting interest on any money they lend out, and before a loan can be given to any customer, the customer must provide a collateral and some details such as:  contact details and a reference/guarantor. When the loan is finally given to the customer, they charge interest based on the the amount given to the customer for a given period of time which could be daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.  For example, a company could be collecting interest based on a particular amount for a given period of time like: $200,000 loan would have an interest tag of $2,000  per month until the money is returned, and $100,000 would have an interest of $1,000 per month until the money is returned.  In  addition, the customers need to know when the time for them to pay their interest comes e.g.  at the end of the month or the timing model with which the calculation is being made. How to execute eject command on an ATM Machine using CoreXfs lib on .NET

In this tutorial, I'm going to demonstrate how to run an eject command on an ATM using CoreXfs, a library I developed.  You can download the library from  here  and follow up with tutorial. First we need to add reference to the downloaded dll. Screen One Once the reference to the dll has been added, you can proceed to coding the application. What I did in the screen below is very simple, I opened the device on the atm using it's logical name so that I can pass in commands. Screen Two So, that's it. thanks for dropping by. You can watch the video below to see how I coded it. Note that this code can only run on an ATM machine. NCR, WINCOR, DIEBOLD, HYOSUNG
